<strong>Frame Pavilion</strong> (2 of 5)<br />A rendered plan and section show the interior light quality as well as the movement of the floors and walls. The lack of a clear ground plane was intentional as we are trying to invite gathering, sitting, and laying down on any and all of the interior surfaces.

<strong>Frame Pavilion</strong> (3 of 5)<br />The Grasshopper file pictured here shows two of the geometric modifications to the interior. The curve to the right of the pavilion determines the spacing of the frames. The green surface slices the frames to allow control of the direct solar illumination.

<strong>Frame Pavilion</strong> (5 of 5)<br />The model pictured is the negative of the pavilion. The interior space was the most crucial aspect of the design. During the entire process the pavilion was designed from the inside out, with that in mind.

The model pictured here displays the undulating interior volume embedded within the eroded rectangle. This pavilion manifests the idea of capturing a spatial experience in a frame, and stacking the experiences together into a pavilion that invites interpretation and occupation.
